Opening of the Russian exposition in Oswiecim

The Russian national exposition
«Tragedy. Courage. Liberation»

On January 27, 2013, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 68th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp by Soviet troops, the Russian national exposition ‘Tragedy. Courage. Liberation’ was opened in the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim, Poland.

The exhibition was prepared by the team of authors from the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. The design-project was created by the Republican museum centre ‘GIM’.

Ambassadors and diplomats from more than 20 countries, former prisoners, representatives of the governments and parliaments of Poland and Russia, clergy, local authorities and government bodies, as well as institutions and organizations of the Polish civil society took part in the ceremony marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
